Timothy Michael Kusky is a Professor at the China University of Geosciences in Wuhan and an Adjunct Professor at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. His career spans over three decades, with significant contributions to Precambrian tectonics, structural geology, and geological hazards. He has held leadership roles such as Director of the Center for Global Tectonics and Founding Director of the Center for Environmental Sciences.
- Current Positions: Distinguished Professor and Changjiang Scholar at China University of Geosciences; Adjunct Professor at Middle East Technical University.
- Education: Bachelor's (magna cum laude), Master's, and PhD from State University of New York at Albany and Johns Hopkins University.
Kusky's research focuses on establishing plate tectonics in Archaean terrains through discoveries of high-pressure/low-temperature metamorphics, eclogites, and nappes. He has been continuously recognized as a Highly Cited Scientist since 2015 and ranks among Stanford's Top 2% Scientists since 2022.
