Kurtis Schroeder

Dr. Kurtis Schroeder is an Associate Professor and Extension Specialist in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Idaho's College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. His expertise focuses on cereal-based cropping systems, soil health management, and plant disease control.

Research areas include:

• Management of soil acidity and aluminum toxicity
• Soilborne disease management in cereals and legumes
• Variety performance testing for regional crops
• Crop rotation strategies for sustainable agriculture

His recent publications address critical regional agricultural challenges including aluminum tolerance in wheat, winter pea management, and canola cultivar performance in acidic soils. He was recognized as 'Faces of the Future in Mycology' by the American Phytopathological Society in 2008.
