Timothy Murray is a Professor and Extension Plant Pathologist at Washington State University’s Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences. His work focuses on sustainable disease management in wheat, including genetic resistance, soilborne pathogens, and cultural practices.

Research Interests: Ecology and epidemiology of wheat diseases caused by soilborne fungi, genetic mapping of resistance genes, population genetics of pathogens, and integrated disease management. His team explores wild wheat relatives for novel resistance and develops diagnostic tools for Rathayibacter species and nematode vectors.
Scientific Contributions: Over 15 recent articles highlight advancements in snow mold QTL mapping, eyespot disease in Tunisia, and Rathayibacter diagnostics. His work spans genetic studies, cultivar registrations, and climate adaptation research.
