Anke Martin

Anke Martin is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Queensland, specializing in Crop and Fungal Genetics. Her research focuses on plant pathology, fungal virulence mechanisms, and genetic mapping for disease resistance in cereals like barley and wheat.

• Education: PhD in Genetics from Stellenbosch University (2000).

Her work addresses critical agricultural challenges such as net blotch in barley, Fusarium crown rot in wheat, and Bipolaris sorokiniana in cereals. She employs advanced genomic tools like DArT markers, GWAS, and hybrid mapping populations to dissect virulence genes and resistance mechanisms.
