معرفی
Anke Martin is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Queensland, specializing in Crop and Fungal Genetics. Her research focuses on plant pathology, fungal virulence mechanisms, and genetic mapping for disease resistance in cereals like barley and wheat.
- Education: PhD in Genetics from Stellenbosch University (2000).
Her work addresses critical agricultural challenges such as net blotch in barley, Fusarium crown rot in wheat, and Bipolaris sorokiniana in cereals. She employs advanced genomic tools like DArT markers, GWAS, and hybrid mapping populations to dissect virulence genes and resistance mechanisms.
Recent research outputs include studies on global spread of Pyrenophora teres isolates (2024), genetic heterogeneity in fungicide-resistant barley pathogens (2023), and molecular characterization of Fusarium root rot in sorghum (2024). She has secured competitive grants including an ARC Linkage Project (2024) and GRDC-funded initiatives (2023).
Martin actively supervises doctoral candidates in plant pathology and has contributed to foundational studies on wheat chromosome inheritance, photosynthesis variation under climate change, and molecular marker development for disease resistance. Her publications span journals like Phytopathology, Plant Pathology, and Frontiers in Plant Science.
