معرفی
Dr Erin Hill is a Researcher in the Division of Plant Sciences at The Australian National University (ANU). Her research focuses on fungal pathogens of wheat, particularly Zymoseptoria tritici and Bipolaris sorokiniana, with emphasis on extracellular vesicles, horizontal gene transfer mechanisms, and virulence factors. She holds a PhD in Plant Sciences (ANU, 2023) and a Bachelor of Science (Advanced) (Honours) from ANU (2018).
Her work explores molecular interactions between fungal pathogens and host plants, including studies on transposon-mediated horizontal transfer of virulence proteins and characterization of pathogen-derived extracellular vesicles. Key research themes include fungal pathogen evolution, genetic adaptation, and host-specific virulence mechanisms.
Recent publications highlight investigations into NIP2 paralogues in Rhynchosporium spp., vesicle biology in Z. tritici, and transposon-driven gene transfer between wheat pathogens. Her findings contribute to understanding pathogen virulence strategies and potential targets for disease control.
Dr Hill is registered to supervise research students and contributes to advancing knowledge in plant pathology and microbial genetics. Her research aligns with ANU's broader initiatives in agricultural science and sustainable crop protection.
