Kurt R. Sweat is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Economics, Systems, and Policy at the O'Donnell School of Public Health, University of Texas Southwestern. His research focuses on market design in healthcare, particularly the heart transplant waitlist system in the U.S. He holds a PhD in Economics from Stanford University (2023), and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins University's Carey Business School and Hopkins Business of Health Initiative.
