His research integrates sports medicine, neurochemistry, and clinical practice to improve brain function through exercise. Notably, he led performance training for Chinese Olympic athletes in the 2016 Rio Games and continues coaching top-tier athletes in fencing and pentathlon. Dr. Liu has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers in journals like PNAS and Neuropharmacology, and reviews for multiple international journals.
Current efforts emphasize collaborative research in sports neuroscience and expanding PEACE programs to enhance mobility and memory in aging populations, as seen in recent Hartford senior dance initiatives.
