Krystyl Wissemann is a Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Edith Cowan University (ECU). She teaches in the dual Bachelor of Science (Nursing)/Bachelor of Science (Midwifery) program, focusing on bridging theoretical knowledge with clinical midwifery practice. Her teaching responsibilities include courses such as MIP2101, MIP1203, and MIT4101, emphasizing midwifery principles, clinical practice in continuity of care, and pathophysiology/pharmacology applications.
Qualified with a Master of Midwifery Practice from ECU (2016), she brings professional experience as a Registered Midwife with NurseWest and completion of the Graduate Midwifery Program at King Edward Memorial Hospital. Her research interests include mentorship strategies to enhance the midwifery workforce and vaginal seeding practices. She is an active member of the Australian College of Midwives (ACM) since 2016 and a published author in the Women's Health Journal.
Her 2022 publication explored mentoring’s role in midwifery, highlighting both benefits and challenges in fostering professional development. Krystyl’s work bridges clinical education, workforce sustainability, and evidence-based midwifery practices.
