Jacqueline Taylor is a Lecturer and Unit Coordinator within the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Edith Cowan University (ECU). She specializes in midwifery education, focusing on evidence-based, women-centered care and partnership with families. She coordinates courses like the Master in Midwifery, Graduate Diploma in Midwifery, and the dual-degree BSc Nursing and BSc Midwifery programs. Her teaching includes units such as Midwifery Clinical Practice and Women’s Health and Diagnostic Reasoning.
Background: Trained in the UK, Jacqueline worked at Liverpool Women’s Hospital before moving to Australia. She held a 4-year research role as a Research Clinical Midwife/Honorary Research Fellow at the Telethon Kids Institute for The ORIGINS Project and later worked in high school health settings with Child and Adolescent Health Services. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Child & Adolescent Health Nursing (Curtin University, 2023), a Master of Nursing (ECU, 2021), and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Midwifery (2009).
Research Interests: Workplace factors in midwifery, with an upcoming PhD (2024) exploring this area. Her 2025 publication examines midwives’ work-life balance through socio-institutional theory.
Labs/Teams: Affiliated with the Telethon Kids Institute (ORIGINS Project) and contributes to ECU’s midwifery education and clinical training initiatives.
