Lesley Andrew

Dr Lesley Andrew is a Senior Lecturer and Master of Nursing course coordinator at Edith Cowan University's School of Nursing and Midwifery. She serves as a HDR Research Supervisor and Deputy Director of the Centre for Evidence Informed Nursing. Her roles include coordinating PRO6000/PRO6110 research units and leading initiatives to enhance student learning experiences.

Lesley holds a PhD from Edith Cowan University (2019), MSc (2003), BSc in Community Healthcare (1997), and BSc Agricultural Zoology (1989). She has over 25 years of nursing experience including roles as a Community Health Specialist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Huddersfield.

Her research focuses on gender equity in nursing education, child oral health, LGBTQI+ student experiences, and work-integrated learning equity. Key projects include the Meningococcal Education App ($290k grant) and healthy food environment guides ($469k grant). She has supervised studies on hypnotherapy in cancer care and diabetes treatment burden.

Lesley's work has been recognized with awards including the 2022 National Teaching Award and media contribution honor. She contributes to professional bodies like the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives.
