Sadie Geraghty is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Edith Cowan University (ECU) and holds concurrent roles as Director of Clinical Education at Charles Darwin University and Adjunct Teaching Fellow at Curtin University. Her expertise spans midwifery practice, particularly in managing substance use during pregnancy, indigenous birth practices, and midwifery workforce stress. She holds a PhD from ECU (2017) and multiple advanced qualifications in education, counseling, and midwifery.
Her research focuses on improving maternal and neonatal care quality, midwifery education, and evidence-based practice implementation. Notable contributions include studies on barriers to midwifery care, breech birth management, and global health equity. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work addressing healthcare system challenges and midwifery workforce well-being.
Geraghty has received prestigious awards, including the 2016 Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Teaching Award and multiple preceptorship accolades. Her teaching innovations include blended learning models and smartphone technology integration in midwifery education.
