Kristine Horner is a Professor of Multilingualism and Luxembourg Studies at the University of Sheffield. She serves as Director of the Centre for Luxembourg Studies and has held leadership roles in postgraduate education. Her career spans institutions including the Université du Luxembourg and the University of Leeds.

Kristine explores the intersection of multilingualism, migration, and globalization. Her research investigates language ideologies, policies, and practices in small nations, focusing on Luxembourgish in Luxembourg and Catalan in Andorra. She examines how migrant communities engage with minority languages and how media constructs multilingualism.
Recent publications highlight her work on strategic ambiguity in language policy, media representations, and educational systems. She co-edited books on multilingual mobilities and metalinguistic perspectives in Germanic languages.
