Dr Kristine Beaulieu is an Associate Professor in Appetite & Obesity at the School of Psychology, University of Leeds, within the Faculty of Medicine and Health. She is a key member of the Appetite Control and Energy Balance Research (ACEB) group, where she conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of psychology, nutrition, and exercise science. Her work is internationally recognized and has been featured in the New York Times.

Her research focuses on how physical activity, diet, and timing of meals and exercise influence appetite regulation, energy balance, and body composition. She investigates both continuous and intermittent energy restriction (such as alternate day fasting) and their effects on homeostatic and hedonic appetite control. Her work also explores diurnal patterns in exercise and eating behavior, with implications for obesity management and type 2 diabetes prevention.
Dr Beaulieu has led and contributed to several high-impact research projects, including the DIVA study, SWEET project, Satiety Map project, and the RESET project at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen. Her research bridges clinical and behavioral sciences, with a strong emphasis on randomized controlled trials and translational outcomes.

Dr Beaulieu is also the Study Abroad Tutor and contributes to the European Association for the Study of Obesity Physical Activity Working Group as theme lead for energy intake and appetite control.
