Dr. Kristin Kilbourn is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Colorado Denver, with joint appointments in the School of Medicine and Comprehensive Cancer Center. She directs the Psychosocial Oncology and Community Engagement Lab, developing interventions to improve quality of life for cancer patients and caregivers. Her NIH-funded research integrates psychoneuroimmunology and mind-body approaches within underserved communities.
Current projects include psilocybin-assisted therapy for cancer distress, mental health curriculum for community health workers, and psychosocial support for pediatric oncology caregivers. She mentors six doctoral students researching health equity, caregiver burnout, and digital health applications. Dr. Kilbourn collaborates with healthcare systems to implement evidence-based supportive care models.
