Krista Ranby is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Colorado Denver, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on dyadic health processes in clinical populations, particularly couples facing chronic illness and cancer caregivers. She directs the Healthy Couples Lab investigating psychosocial interventions for health behavior change.
Her research examines: 1) Partner dynamics in health management across the cancer continuum 2) Development of psychometric tools for assessing relational health constructs 3) Stress-reduction interventions for medically underserved populations 4) Health behavior concordance in LGBTQ+ couples during major life transitions. Methodologically, she employs mixed-methods approaches with emphasis on longitudinal dyadic analysis.
Analysis of recent publications reveals strong focus on: caregiver distress in oncology trials (58% of recent works), dyadic health measurement development (35%), and health equity applications in underserved populations (42%). Research consistently integrates cognitive-behavioral frameworks with biopsychosocial models.
Dr. Ranby leads NIH-funded projects examining telehealth interventions for oncology caregivers. She mentors graduate students in clinical health psychology doctoral programs and supervises practicum trainees in behavioral medicine.
