Kristin Janke

Kristin Janke, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care & Health Systems at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. She serves as Associate Dean for Assessment and Quality and Director of the Wulling Center for Innovation and Scholarship in Pharmacy Education (W-CISPE), while also holding the position of Editor-in-Chief Designate for the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education.

Her educational background includes a PhD in Social and Administrative Pharmacy with an Educational Psychology minor from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy and a Bachelor of Arts Cum Laude in Psychology from St. Olaf College.

Dr. Janke's research focuses on transforming pharmacy education through student leadership development, innovative assessment methodologies, continuing professional development systems, and scholarship of teaching and learning. She pioneered the Leadership Emphasis Area in the PharmD program, designed assessment frameworks including the CPD e-portfolio and OSCE, and advocates for evidence-based educational practices across pharmacy curricula.

Her exceptional contributions have earned recognition through multiple prestigious awards:

• 2012 Lyman Award for best paper in the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education
• AACP Innovations in Teaching Award (2010 and 2015)
• AACP Award for Excellence in Assessment (2012)
• Induction into the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center’s Academy for Excellence in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (2011)
• Distinguished Teaching Scholar Award from AACP (2018)

Dr. Janke mentors students across the PharmD leadership emphasis area, Pharmaceutical Care Leadership Residency, and Social and Administrative Pharmacy Graduate Program while co-advising Phi Lambda Sigma. Her leadership extends to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy's Leadership Development Special Interest Group and the Big Ten Assessment Collaborative.

As Wulling Center Director, she spearheads educational scholarship initiatives and research teams. Her accreditation expertise includes serving as an ACPE Site Visitor, while her continuing education leadership spans roles on the ACPE Continuing Education Commission and CPD Steering Committee.
