Kristin Anne Goss is the Susan B. King Distinguished Professor of Public Policy at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy. She holds appointments in Political Science (Trinity College) and is Director of Duke in DC, a policy immersion program. Her research focuses on political participation, gun control advocacy, and philanthropy’s role in public policy. Goss directs Duke’s Center for the Study of Philanthropy and Voluntarism and is a faculty affiliate in Duke’s Center for Firearms Law.

Research Interests: Examines how everyday Americans engage in public life, with emphasis on gun policy debates, women’s activism, and billionaire philanthropy’s influence. Recent work includes analyzing the durability of gun control issues in public attention and the evolving role of donors in democratic processes.
