Kristian Steenstrup

Kristian Steenstrup serves as Professor of Trumpet at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark, where he has established an international reputation as both performer and educator since graduating from the same institution in 1992. His career spans extensive global engagement, including masterclasses across five continents and workshops with major orchestras throughout Europe and the Americas.

His academic foundation includes advanced studies at Northwestern University (1988-1990) followed by intensive private mentorship with legendary brass pedagogues Vincent Cichowicz and Arnold Jacobs during the 1990s, shaping his distinctive approach to trumpet performance and instruction.

Steenstrup's scholarly contributions center on brass pedagogy and performance practice, highlighted by his influential 2007 publication Teaching Brass.
