Their research centers on theatre of trauma and uncovering suppressed narratives through new play development, with specialized focus on accessibility in theatrical practice, feminist microhistories, and systemic challenges to reproductive health in academic environments. This interdisciplinary work consistently bridges scholarly investigation with practical applications for inclusive storytelling and institutional change.
Analysis of Kristi's recent publications reveals a cohesive trajectory examining power structures through dramaturgical frameworks—from manifestos on translated scripts to historical investigations of marginalized figures—demonstrating how theatrical practices can challenge dominant narratives and normalize discussions of bodily autonomy within academia.
Through advising production dramaturgy assignments and serving as Disability Resources liaison, Kristi cultivates accessible creative environments while contributing to national new play development through script consulting, workshop dramaturgy, and adjudication for organizations like the Playwrights’ Center in Minneapolis.
