Kristen Andrews is a Lecturer and Discipline Lead of Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University (CSU). She transitioned from a clinical leadership role as a Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist, with international experience in the UK and Middle East. Her clinical background spans adult and paediatric acute care, with a special focus on acute care paediatrics. Kristen holds a Master of Philosophy investigating parental experiences in Cystic Fibrosis (CF) care and is currently pursuing a PhD on physiotherapy during CF exacerbations. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and contributes to curriculum design in PBL and simulation-based learning.
Her professional roles include membership on the Australian Physiotherapy Council’s Item Writing Panel and Simulation Assessor. Kristen advocates for student wellbeing, is an accredited Mental Health First Aider, and integrates LGBTQIA+ content into physiotherapy education. Her research emphasizes co-design methodologies involving children and families in healthcare and physical activity interventions.
Recent work includes systematic reviews on pediatric exercise interventions and co-designed physical activity resources. She has received multiple awards for research and teaching excellence, reflecting her dual commitment to clinical practice and education innovation.
