Dr. Kris Macomber is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sociology & Criminology at Meredith College. She specializes in violence and victimization, inequality and justice, women’s incarceration, and ally activism. Her work bridges academic research with public engagement, including media appearances on platforms like The New York Times, BBC, and PBS. She teaches courses such as Gender and Violence, Visual Sociology, and Research Capstone, emphasizing interactive and hands-on learning.

- Ph.D. in Sociology, North Carolina State University
- M.A. in Sociology, North Carolina State University
- B.A. in Sociology, University of Rhode Island (with minors in Women’s and Gender Studies and Theatre)
