Dr Kris Jeremy is the Deputy Head of School at the School of Biomedical Sciences (Faculty of Health), University of Plymouth. He holds the academic rank of Associate Professor of Biochemistry (Education) and has served as Programme Lead for the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science from August 2015 to May 2021. His roles include Blood pathway lead for HCS LS/BSc Applied Biomedical Science and Lecturer in Biomedical Science (Biochemistry) from August 2014 to August 2021.
His teaching responsibilities span undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including FMD001 Molecules to Cells, BHCS3004 Specialist Biochemistry and Screening, and multiple courses in Biomedical Investigation, Human Metabolism, Nutritional Biochemistry, and Cancer Biology. He has led modules on research project design (BIOM5006 Research Project) and specialized topics like BHCS5010 Contemporary Applications in Cancer Biology and Therapeutics.
Research interests are inferred from his teaching focus on biochemistry, metabolic pathways, disease mechanisms, and clinical applications in cancer biology. He has contributed to curriculum development in biomedical science and has coordinated placements and employability programs for students.
As Deputy Head of School, he oversees academic strategy and staff development within the School of Biomedical Sciences, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and student success.
