Dr. Kostas Pappas is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Accounting at the University of Liverpool Management School. Previously, he held academic positions at Loughborough University (2017–2019) and the University of Southampton (2015–2017). He earned a Ph.D. from Alliance Manchester Business School, supported by scholarships from the University of Manchester and the ESRC.
His research focuses on market-based accounting, including earnings quality, debt contracting, and corporate disclosure. Key contributions include studies on convertible bond covenants, government subsidies, and cross-border lending dynamics. He has published in journals like the Journal of Banking and Finance and the British Accounting Review.
