Konrad Chmielecki

Dr. hab. Konrad Chmielecki is an Associate Professor in the Division of Culture and Media Studies at the University of Bialystok's Faculty of Cultural Studies. His research focuses on the transformations of visual culture in digital media environments, contemporary visual identity formation, and the intersection of biopolitics with visual representation.

His scholarly work critically examines how digital technologies reshape visual communication and cultural expression, with particular emphasis on selfie culture, ocularcentrism, and post-9/11 visual politics. Recent publications investigate the anthropology of digital visuality, the performative aspects of net art, and transcultural representations.

Dr. Chmielecki's research consistently engages with contemporary challenges in visual culture, including the social implications of algorithmic vision, biopolitical imagery in urban spaces, and new methodological approaches to visual analysis in the digital age.
