Kohinoor Kar serves as a Faculty Associate in the Department of Civil, Environmental & Sustainable Engineering at Arizona State University's School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment, concurrently holding the position of Research Center Lead at the Arizona Department of Transportation since 2023.
His educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Transportation)
- Professional Engineer (Civil) license in Arizona
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification in Washington, DC
Dr. Kar's research focuses on critical transportation safety domains including highway safety, traffic engineering, human factors, and pedestrian safety, with emphasis on infrastructure design and behavioral dynamics to reduce fatalities and enhance multimodal mobility.
His scientific recognition includes:
- ITE Michigan Section Scholarship
- Membership in Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honor Society
