Kirsty Pope is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Monash University’s School of Primary and Allied Health Care. She joined the university in 2014 after roles at the University of Salford, where she lectured in occupational therapy. Her academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from Oxford Brookes University (1994), an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy of Psychosis from the University of Manchester (2001), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from the University of Salford (2012).
Her research focuses on occupational therapy education, work-integrated learning, and cultural competence development. Notable projects include initiatives on problem-based learning in occupational therapy curricula, workforce development in healthcare, and supervision training for health professionals. She has led or co-led five research projects since 2017, including studies on supervision models and digital training methods.
Kirsty has received multiple awards, including the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Programs that Enhance Learning (2023 and 2024) and the School of Primary & Allied Health Care Academic Excellence Team Award (2017). Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and good health. She actively participates in academic conferences and peer-review activities, including roles as a reviewer for Medical Teacher and the Australian Occupational Therapy Journal.
