Kirsty Mackie

Kirsty Mackie is a Lecturer in Law at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC). She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from QUT. With extensive experience in Family Law and Elder Law, she has worked in both private practice and the community legal sector. Kirsty co-coordinates the UniSC Practical Legal Clinic with David Wise and previously chaired the Queensland Law Society (QLS) Elder Law Committee from 2014 to 2020. She has actively advocated for legislative reforms in Elder Law and Guardianship, and served as a QLS Councillor in 2017 and 2019. Her teaching focuses on Law Professional Practice, integrating practical legal training with academic rigor.
