Kirstie Plantenberg is an Associate Professor and Assistant Chair in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Detroit Mercy's College of Engineering & Science. She teaches courses including Statics, Dynamics, Numerical Analysis, Materials, Design of Experiments, and Engineering Graphics.
Her research focuses on Tribology, specifically the effects of vibration on friction. Dr. Plantenberg holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University and previously worked at General Motors Corporation testing seat safety and designing testing fixtures.
