Professor Kiran Trehan serves as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise, Partnerships and Engagement and Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of York, with internationally recognized expertise in inclusive enterprise, diversity-driven entrepreneurship, and social innovation. Her work bridges academic research and practical policy implementation across national and European contexts including the OECD.
Her research centers on structural disadvantage in minority business communities, informed by her lived experience as daughter of a first-generation working-class migrant. This user-engaged scholarship generates evidence-based tools for sustainable change, emphasizing community co-production and transformative knowledge exchange to address entrenched inequalities.
