Kip Franklin is an Associate Professor of Clarinet at the Department of Music, University of South Alabama, where he teaches clarinet performance, music theory, and composition. He is a member of the International Clarinet Association, The College Music Society, and Pi Kappa Lambda, and has performed extensively in the U.S. and Europe with symphonies and ensembles like Fresco Winds woodwind quintet.

He has collaborated on premieres of works like David Maslanka’s Eternal Garden and Concerto for Clarinet and Wind Ensemble, and his career spans adjudication, master classes, and international studies in Italy, Luxembourg, and France.

Dr. Franklin previously served as a woodwind adjudicator for the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association and has conducted master classes at schools and universities nationwide.
