Dr. Ellen Breakfield-Glick is an Associate Professor of Clarinet and Head of the Woodwind Department at the Irving S. Gilmore School of Music, Western Michigan University. She teaches applied clarinet, coaches chamber music, and performs with Western Winds and the Western Wind Quintet. Her career spans solo, chamber, and orchestral performances with ensembles like the Louisville Orchestra and Michigan Philharmonic. She previously served as faculty at Cleveland State University and has held leadership roles at summer institutes such as the University of Michigan’s MPulse Clarinet Institute.
- Education: D.M.A. and M.M. in Clarinet Performance (University of Michigan), B.M. in Clarinet Performance (Eastman School of Music)
- Arts Leadership: Graduate of Eastman’s Arts Leadership Program, focusing on entrepreneurship and marketing
