Dr. Kindy Sandhu is a Research Fellow at Coventry University's Research Centre for Peace and Security. She holds a PhD from Coventry University (2019) and an MA in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies from the University of Warwick. Her research focuses on intersectionality, violence against women and girls (VAWG), and the socio-economic impacts of austerity policies. She currently investigates the Windrush Scandal’s effects on identity and belonging among victims and families in England. Additionally, she leads an oral history project uncovering South Asian women’s healthcare experiences in Coventry, linking colonial legacies to modern health disparities.
Kindy has collaborated with universities and local organizations on projects addressing refugee nurse recruitment and sexual assault mental health needs. She lectures on race, gender, and social transformation. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals on gender equality and social justice.
