Dr. Kimberly Jamie is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Durham University, with additional affiliations as an Associate Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Study and a member of the Durham CELLS (Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences). She joined Durham in 2014 after completing her PhD at the University of York (2012) and a Research Fellowship there (2012-2014). Her academic journey includes an EU Cooperation for Science and Technology Fellowship at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan (2013).

She explores how teenage mothers negotiate health norms, the role of 'stuff' in therapeutic practices, and interdisciplinary collaborations across biology, chemistry, and psychology. Recent work includes studies on medicinal clay and human adaptations in polluted spaces.
Her publications from 2020-2025 highlight trends in medical fatphobia, digital health practices, neoliberal work culture, and reproductive health. Collaborations span disciplines including pharmacy, psychology, and economics.
