Dr. Jamie Harding is an Assistant Professor in the Social Sciences Department at Northumbria University. His research focuses on homelessness, policing, and refugee studies, with contract work for agencies like Newcastle City Council and Durham County Council. He leads the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship program and teaches research methods, criminal justice, and social exclusion.
His research explores the societal impacts of homelessness policy, asylum systems, and policing reforms. Recent work examines counter-terrorism vigilance campaigns and community food security initiatives. Articles reflect a strong emphasis on policy implementation and social equity.
Harding holds a PhD in Sociology, PGCert in Teaching & Learning, and MA in Housing. He actively recruits PhD students studying social exclusion, policing, or refugee issues.
