Kimberly Hammaker

Kimberly Hammaker serves as an Instructor of Education within the School of Education and Behavioral Studies, Department of Education, having joined her institution in 2011. A fourth-generation Palm Beach County native educator, she brings extensive K-9 classroom experience from Palm Beach County public schools and online ESL instruction for Chinese students.

Her academic credentials include a Master of Arts in English Language Learning from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Palm Beach Atlantic University, reflecting her foundational expertise in pedagogy and language acquisition.

Ms. Hammaker specializes in innovative instructional methodologies with demonstrated expertise in inquiry-based learning, arts integration, and discussion-based approaches. Her research focus centers on effective strategies for English Speakers of Other Languages and students with exceptionalities, informed by professional development at High Tech High, the Kennedy Center, and Philips Exeter Academy.

Her professional recognition includes the 2019 North Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year award and active involvement as a presenter/facilitator for the Inquiry Project Collaborative, highlighting her contributions to educational practice.

Outside academia, she engages with national children's literature festivals as a volunteer and maintains community involvement through Providencia West Palm Beach church activities with her husband Ben.
