Kimberly Oxley is an Instructor and Program Director in the Department of Counseling, Leadership, and Educational Studies at Winthrop University. She holds an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University and a B.A. in Music from Emory & Henry College. Her work focuses on supporting culturally and linguistically diverse students and families, particularly through ESOL methodologies and strategies. She has over 20 years of experience working with K-12 and adult English learners from over 50 countries, including roles as an ESOL teacher, Newcomer Program Director, and Instructional Coach in Brazil, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. At Winthrop, she leads EDCO 201: Supporting the ESL Student in the General Education Classroom and contributes to the NExT LEVEL grant. Her mission centers on fostering inclusive educational environments that honor students' cultural heritage and enhance parental involvement.
