Donna Fowler

Donna Fowler is an Associate Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics at the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA), where she has taught since 1994.

Her educational background includes:

• Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, Florida International University
• Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction: Mathematics Education, Florida International University
• M.S. in Mathematics, Middle Tennessee State University
• B.A. in Mathematics, Carson Newman University

Dr. Fowler specializes in mathematics education research with emphasis on international curriculum comparisons. Her doctoral dissertation analyzed twenty-three features across middle grades mathematics textbooks from Singapore and the United States, revealing critical differences in pedagogical approaches and content organization. This work contributes significantly to understanding effective mathematics instruction frameworks in global contexts.

She maintains active professional engagement through long-standing memberships in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) since 1999, Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics (FCTM), and Palm Beach County Council of Teachers of Mathematics (PBCCTM). As faculty sponsor for the Mathematics Society, she cultivates student interest in mathematical applications beyond the classroom through community outreach initiatives and campus events.
