Kimberly Grey is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing in the graduate program at the University of North Texas, specializing in creative nonfiction and hybrid forms. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Cincinnati and has taught at institutions including Stanford University, Franklin & Marshall College, and Webster University. Her interdisciplinary work explores intersections between cognitive psychology, aesthetics, and trauma studies, with a focus on memoir, experimental forms, and literary pedagogy. She serves on the advisory board for The Pegasus Physician Writers, consulting on publishing and competency frameworks.
Her research interests include hybrid literary forms, trauma narratives, and the interplay between language and identity. Notable publications include poetry collections Systems for the Future of Feeling and The Opposite of Light, and the essay collection A Mother Is an Intellectual Thing, which examines maternal relationships through interdisciplinary lenses. Her writing has appeared in Boston Review, The Kenyon Review, and Plume.
