Kelly Magee is a Professor in the Department of English at Western Washington University. She specializes in creative writing, queer studies, and speculative fiction, with a focus on hybrid forms and ethical storytelling. Her research explores intersections between personal narrative and broader cultural themes, often incorporating innovative structures like clickbait-inspired essays and social media hybrids.
Her publications include award-winning story collections such as Body Language (2006, Katherine Anne Porter Prize winner) and The Neighborhood (2017), as well as collaborative works like With Animal (2015). Recent work includes speculative nonfiction essays and interdisciplinary projects blending fiction with digital media.
