Lori A. May is an Instructor and MFA Mentor in the Creative Nonfiction MFA Program at the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She holds a BA from Western University, MA from Wilkes University, and MFA from Wilkes University. Her academic work focuses on literary citizenship, hybrid genres, and experimental forms in creative nonfiction.
May’s research interests include place-as-character narratives, travel writing, and memoir. Her publications span literary journals like *The Atlantic*, *Brevity*, and *The Kenyon Review*, alongside travel magazines such as *Afar* and *TripSavvy*. She is a sought-after freelance editor for presses like Bloomsbury and Kaylie Jones Books.
Her book *The Write Crowd* (2015) was a *Poets & Writers* best book and nominated for a Michigan Notable Book Award. She actively contributes to professional organizations including the Association of Writers & Writing Programs and the International Food Wine & Travel Writers Association.
