معرفی
Kimberly Farnsworth is a Researcher at the Friday Institute within North Carolina State University's College of Education. Her work focuses on advancing STEM education through innovative pedagogical approaches such as problem-based learning (PBL), maker-space integration, and scaffolding strategies in K-12 and higher education settings.
Her research emphasizes technology-enhanced learning environments, remote education strategies, and teacher professional development. Notable projects include evaluating NSF-funded engineering programs, developing virtual research experiences for educators, and designing crisis-responsive online lab activities during the pandemic.
Farnsworth has consistently explored the intersection of educational technology and field-based teacher training, with early work (2002-2003) establishing frameworks for integrating technology into preservice teacher education. Her recent studies (2020-2023) highlight distributed scaffolding systems, high school science problem-solving, and PBL applications in engineering education.
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, she contributes to program evaluation methodologies and the design of equitable educational tools. Her work spans both theoretical research and practical implementation, aiming to bridge gaps between foundational knowledge and real-world problem-solving.
