Kim Minso is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Art and Design Studies at the University of North Texas. Their work focuses on the intersection of art, technology, and human interaction, exploring themes such as biometric authentication systems, wearable technology, and the symbiotic relationship between humans and digital environments.
Key projects include Lock at first sight, a wearable adversarial design challenging biometric privacy, and Citizen X, which proposes customizable contact lenses as a future solution for digital identity. Their research also delves into sensory experiences through interactive installations like Searching for the meaning, which uses sensors to engage audiences in ephemeral public space explorations.
Kim’s work frequently employs computational algorithms, sound design, and robotic systems to interrogate cultural communication, temporal perspectives, and the human body’s integration with technology. Their projects have been exhibited in venues such as the Climbable Discovery Museum and Junkyard Social Club, Boulder CO.
