Kim Laskowski is a Visiting Professor of Bassoon at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, for the 2025-2026 academic year. Previously, she served as Associate Principal Bassoon of the New York Philharmonic for 20 years until her retirement in September 2023. She holds degrees from The Juilliard School and the Conservatoire National Superieure de Paris. Her career spans orchestral performances with ensembles like the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, along with chamber music collaborations and recordings. She is also active in teaching, holding faculty positions at Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music.

Her research interests include classical, jazz, and 20th-century music performance, as evidenced by her recordings with Music Amici and the rock group 10,000 Maniacs. She has performed globally and given master classes in institutions across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Awards include the Naumburg Award and platinum records for her contributions to music.
Teaching roles extend to New World Symphony and the Sphinx Organization. She resides in Manhattan and Patmos, Greece.
