Anthony Georgeson serves as Artist in Residence at Kennesaw State University since 2018 and holds an additional appointment as Artist Affiliate in Bassoon at Emory University. He concurrently performs as Associate Principal Bassoonist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra since 2017.
Education:
- Master of Music, The Juilliard School (studied with Whitney Crockett)
- Bachelor of Music, University of Wisconsin-Madison (studied with Kenneth Moses)
His professional focus centers on orchestral performance and woodwind pedagogy, specializing in bassoon repertoire spanning classical concerti to contemporary orchestral works. Performance history includes principal roles with The Florida Orchestra (2007-2017) and guest appearances with major ensembles including The Cleveland Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. His discography features Brahms symphonies recorded at BBC PROMS and Musikverein in Vienna.
