Kim Lane Scheppele is the Laurance S. Rockefeller Professor of Sociology and International Affairs at Princeton University and Director of the Program in Law and Normative Thinking at the University Center for Human Values. She has held visiting faculty positions at Stanford Law School, Yale Law School, Harvard Law School, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Humboldt University Berlin.
- Research focuses on constitutional democracy, legal autocracy, and post-9/11 impacts on constitutional protections.
- President of the Law and Society Association (2017–2019).
- Founding director of the gender program at Central European University Budapest.

- Elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences
- Elected member of the International Academy of Comparative Law
- Kalven Prize (2014) from the Law and Society Association
