Christopher L. Eisgruber is the 20th President of Princeton University, serving since 2013. Previously, he was Princeton’s Provost (2004–2013) and a faculty member specializing in constitutional law and public affairs. He holds a B.A. in Physics from Princeton (1983), an M.Litt in Politics from the University of Oxford (as a Rhodes Scholar), and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. As President, he has prioritized socioeconomic diversity in higher education, free speech, and institutional service. His scholarly work focuses on constitutional governance, religious freedom, and legal theory.
