Aly Kassam-Remtulla serves as Vice Provost for International Affairs and Operations at Princeton University, overseeing global engagement strategies and managing international operations across three continents. He is also a lecturer in the Department of Anthropology, teaching undergraduate seminars, and advises first-year and sophomore students in New College West. With a PhD from Oxford University (as a Rhodes Scholar), he holds degrees in MSc, MBA, and anthropology.
His administrative portfolio includes managing Princeton’s global footprint, such as the Mpala campus in Kenya and the Princeton China Center, as well as overseeing international safety, agreements, and immigration support for 3,300 international students/scholars. He co-founded the Faculty Advancement Network to advance diversity in academia and previously managed $60M in grants at the MacArthur Foundation.
Aly’s writing has appeared in WIRED Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, and the Philadelphia Inquirer. He chairs the board of United World College-USA and serves on multiple other boards, including Allegheny College and Princeton in Africa.
