Hugh Gusterson is a Professor at the University of British Columbia (UBC), holding a joint appointment in the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs and the Department of Anthropology within the Faculty of Arts. He previously taught at MIT, George Mason University, George Washington University, and Georgia Tech. His research focuses on militarism, the anthropology of science, neoliberalism, counterinsurgency, securitization, nuclear policy, drones, polygraphs, and drug policy.

Research & Awards: Gusterson has authored influential books like *Nuclear Rites*, *People of the Bomb*, and *Drone* (winner of the Roy Palmer Civil Liberties Prize). His work has been funded by the Guggenheim Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, and NSF. He has held visiting fellowships at Princeton’s Institute for Advanced Study and Stanford’s Center for International Security and Cooperation.
Teaching: Courses include the Anthropology of Drugs (ANTH 203) and Qualitative Methods in Anthropology (ANTH 516).
