Christopher L. Eisgruber serves as the 20th President of Princeton University and holds the title of Laurance S. Rockefeller Professor at the School of Public and International Affairs and the University Center for Human Values. His academic work focuses on constitutional law, religious freedom, and public policy.

His research explores intersections between constitutional governance, legal theory, and political ethics. Key publications include The Next Justice (2007), analyzing Supreme Court appointment processes, and Religious Freedom and the Constitution (2007), co-authored with Lawrence G. Sager.
Prior to his presidency, Eisgruber served as Princeton’s Provost (2004–2013) and director of the Program in Law and Public Affairs (2001–2004).
