Kim Holt is a Professor of Family Law at Northumbria University and a practicing Barrister at Trinity Chambers in Newcastle Upon Tyne. She holds over 30 years of experience in Child Protection and Family Law, focusing on ensuring justice for vulnerable individuals. Previously, she served as Head of the Department for Social Work, Education, and Community Wellbeing at Northumbria and led the Department of Social Work at the University of Bradford for 11 years. Her research spans serious case reviews, online therapeutic technologies for children with mentally ill parents, and public inquiries into historical child abuse allegations. She also serves on the Board of Governors at Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Mental Health Trust.
